In 2010, the icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajökull erupted and sent an ash plume across Europe that shut down aviation for 6 days. Now a neighboring and much larger icelandic volcano, Katla, is showing signs of activity. The concern is that the last time Katla erupted in 1918 its ash plume was 5 times larger than the 2102 Eyjafjallajökull plume.
So while Katla may be easier to spell and say, we hope we won't be hearing a lot more about it in coming days.
Whether you live near a volcano or not, be prepared for any emergency or disaster.
